A Wildly Earnest Assignment

For your first social-networking assignment, work in groups of 4 to 8 students.

a. Imagine a specific scene during the action of The Importance of Being Earnest, a specific time prior to the play or a specific time after the action of the play. For example, you might decide on a time ten years after the action of the play when Algernon and Cecily, and Jack and Gwendolen are married and have children, or you may choose the moment between Act II and Act II. Whatever time your group decides, be sure that everyone agrees in general about what has taken

a. Each group member must choose a different character and write a diary entry of the agreed-upon time. The entry must be about 200 words.

b. Print your diary page with your own name, your character’s name, the time and setting of the diary entry and the names of the members in your group.

c. Copy and paste the same entry in the “Wilde Blog."
